While what are what I would consider at least 75% freeway miles have been good for the pickup mechanically, I’m afraid it hasn’t bode well for the body.

Kinja'd!!!

If a bird’s poop lands vertically between the canopy and cab on that little lip, and horizontally between the outside and the rear sliding window, you’re gonna have a bad time.

Kinja'd!!!

The professional canopy place apparently installed mine misaligned because it’s actually been scratching the paint off on the passenger side...

Kinja'd!!!

I distinctly remember the exact rock that carved this crater on the hood.

Kinja'd!!!

You would not believe how much road tar was under here. Fuck 405.

Kinja'd!!!

Someone tried to clean the gauge covers with sand paper once.

Kinja'd!!!

I diligently washed the car... And the second I set down the rag it starts raining. Didn’t really have a choice as the sap and a bad morning of hailing bird poo over whatever tree hangs over the driveway had to be addressed.

Kinja'd!!!

I cleaned out the interior, but then my cat got her wet paws everywhere when I had my back turned.

Kinja'd!!!

Pretty much impossible to get mad at this cat though.

I just put over 200 miles on a 267k mile ‘05-ish Tacoma at work, I quite enjoyed it.

A definite upgrade from the 2000 2wd Taco I drove before this one.

The 2.7 is more powerful than I thought it would be. It was actually pretty fun.

Tacos are very good trucks.

Friend of mine has a Sr5 V6, great truck. He was able to spin the tires pretty easy...... and got them to chirp between second and third gear during rain.

Yeah if you make a sharp right turn decelerating at even 20 miles an hour and the road is slick from light rain, you will slip quite a bit. My ‘80 has never slipped on me once, and it has no weight in the back or canopy and has a longer wheelbase...

Jeebus. That’s a little disconcerting.

There are other factors at play. Like me taking corners too fast probably doo doo doo

Haha, well that guy I know drives a bit too fast for the record.

Still seemed like a perfectly capable truck though. I’d rather have one than a Colorado or Canyon.

I just got a warranty recall to replace the frame on my 2006 with 78K. Ugh.

(replace the frame - wat?)

You can thank Dana for that, not Toyota. I think 2008 and up Toyota had a different supplier, ridding the trucks of the rust issues.
